Why do spots return after I try to clean them?

Many people all across the globe like to keep their carpet looking clean in between the regular steam cleaning they receive. So you are not alone in this. Spotters are a great way to take care of these little problems. Some things to note when using spotters:

  1. Test in an inconspicuous area for colorfastness.
  2. Use small amounts of the product and work your way from the outside in.
  3. Blot up the unwanted spot and spot remover. NEVER scrub the spot, this might set the stain into the fiber causing it to be difficult or impossible to remove.
  4. After you have removed the spot rinse the area with cold water.

What if the spots keep coming back?

Apply carpet spot remover and place several layers of paper towel or an old cotton towel over the spot. Place at least 10 pounds of weight on the area. Remove the towel the next day. Fluff the carpet and allow it to dry. If spot the returns, repeat the process.
